Sometimes I think I blab on a bit too much on my site, but hey, we all need somewhere where we can be on a roll, and it's always nice to know when someone actually enjoys my musicy ramblings. For me, one of the most spiritually uplifting experiences is to witness your own piece of music soaring free for the first time out to a real audience! Thank you. Yes, I have seen Awakenings and I loved it. It really moved me. I think Robin Williams is a great actor and is particularly good in roles like that. Would also love to read that book and will do eventually. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest with Jack Nichollson(another actor I love) is another fantastic film about this kind of thing. I love the scene near the beginning when Nichollson is first admitted to the mental institution by the white-coats. He is asked a simple question by one of the doctors and his response is to fling his head back and bellow with utterly insane, gawfawing laughter. Of course everyone thinks he's deeply disturbed, and yet as the film shows he's anything but - and neither are the rest of the patients. He befriends them and helps them with his attention and tough compassion. Superb. It seems that Madness is only seen in that which is not understood. I recommend that film.
